This is a photorealism piece done in graphite. It's a chandelier.. as you can see. I like the foreshortening and composition, but I might make the bottom surfaces of the chandelier a little darker to strengthen the form overall.
This is a figure drawing done in marker and watercolor. It's modified blind contour and I used both my left and right hands in the process. In the future I definitely want to add more to her back and arms, and add more medium values. I also want to work on a background.
This is a drapery study I did in charcoal with the goal of making a strong obervational piece. I like how realistic it looks but I wish it could have had a stronger composition (I didn't really have a choice).
This is the perspective drawing we worked on a few days in class. I like the composition and I think it shows the distance effectively. However, I definitely want to spend some more time working out the detail to make it look even more realistic.

Beautiful job on the summer homework! I am particularly fond of your design and ambition in the chandelier piece which would work beautifully in either a Drawing or 2D portfolio.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see more!
The 3 other works are excellent starts as well. As you continue to develop your portfolio since you are currently 2D make sure to keep design as your top priority thinking about your distribution of + and - space as well as the arrangement of your values. Composition is everything!
